Studies (2025)

Masks, ego, desire — and the violence of being seen.

Studies gathers the experiments that sharpened The Gaze: close-up portraits where identity is reduced to a few charged signals—mask, gaze, wound, stitch. Each work tests how little is needed for a face to feel exposed.

Formally, the paintings lean into contrast: dark grounds, blunt cuts of color, and textured passages where paint behaves like skin—built, scraped, and left unfinished on purpose.
